As individuals we all wanted to open a shop but knew that the idea was untenable, whilst continuing to make. We had a get together at Josephine’s house and it went from there. Initially we met once a week and started to discuss our aims and objectives; how the shop should be, simple but fundamental things like the atmosphere and ‘feel’ of the shop. It was five months from our first meeting to opening the doors. We are now established as an outlet for ourselves and for local makers, hosting a diverse range of products. Our produce continues to change as we discover new stockists and develop new ideas. It’s wonderful to see the shop flourish and grow, almost generating a life of its own.
