The work exhibited by Anna Thomson is part of a new collection which sees a break with her previous work designing ceramics for production by manufacturers. She has returned to studio based work, enjoying the freedom of experimentation, taking pleasure in methodology and in developing new processes and techniques -just Anna and her kiln.

Made in Hastings is delighted to introduce the work of Nicola Flower, exhibiting at the shop currently.

Girl lit from within is about being an artist working at home at the Lock on the Medway amongst the messiness of domestic life.

“The content of my work is the every day to which I attach my intimate thoughts. I am absorbed by the process of making and responding to objects and places. I use whatever medium is effective and appropriate for expressing my ideas.”
